Over the month of October, more than fifty Australian kids will be diagnosed with some form of cancer. We’ll lose about 12. Awful stats… but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Research has given cancer kids a better-than-80% chance of survival in the modern age, and the oncology profession’s leading lights suggest that the end of childhood cancer is closer than we think.
The least I can do, as the father of a thriving childhood cancer survivor, is join the gang at the Great Cycle Challenge and raise valuable funds for this research to continue.
I’ve nominated to ride 1500km over the month and to personally raise $1500 – in its first year, the Great Cycle Challenge raised over $1 million, and there’s already $140,000 in the kitty for 2014!
